Food Energetics

Food Energetics

You may have heard of ‘Food Energenetics’ or cooling/heating foods maybe? I will try my best to simplify & make Food Energetics logical & as non-wordy as possible.

A healthy animal will be balanced between yin & yang; an unbalanced one will show health issues & disease.
Does your dog prefer the heat or the cold? Some dogs seek the heat whilst others the cold stone floors or under bushes, even if it is not hot outside. Just as some people, run hotter than others. Some households have one of each and end up giving the thermostat quite a workout!
Working out if your pet prefers hot or cold, can assist you in using food to help balance their system for the better, & possibly even prevent disease.

Hot Dogs:

Dogs that run a little hot & prefer cooler conditions can go off food during warmer periods. For these dogs, offering a cooling source of food can help. This does not mean feeding frozen foods, but the food itself has an energy.
Maybe you have a hot dog that is always itchy & scratchy with poor skin? Try stripping the diet right back and feeding fresh cooling foods, vegetables and herbs. Do things calm down? Add in a little neutral food to balance and gently add in other foods as time goes on. Cooling foods can help to bring down inflammation in the body.

Cold dogs:

Dog that won’t put on weight, or are always cold and snuggled up? Try warmer & hot foods, and add some neutral for balance too.
Neutral foods are versatile, and can work to balance out the warming and cooling foods that are given.

Feeding Seasonally:

We at Green’s are seasonal feeders, so the diet as a whole will be more cool & neutral in Spring/Summer, and warm/hotter in Autumn & Winter.

We believe that the ability to obtain whatever foods we want, whenever we want, from anywhere in the world can result in our bodies being “out of whack” in the first place. Too much of this can cause unbalance.
Simply using the energy of food can be of great advantage to us & our pets. In addition, seasonal feeding for your pet, and not “one size fits all” may just be the ticket.
